Domain Descriptions Should Be Modular
This work is about the metatheory of actions, and here we address the problem of what a good domain description for reasoning about actions should look like. We state some postulates concerning this sore spot, which establishes the notion of a modular domain description. We point out the problems that arise when modularity is violated and propose algorithms to overcome them.

متن کاملIFCC standardised HbA(1c): should the world be as one?
The central importance of HbA(1c) in monitoring glycaemic control was highlighted by the Diabetes Control and Complications Trial (DCCT) which showed that improved glycaemic control, as monitored by HbA(1c), delayed the onset of diabetic complications. Following this publication the issue of international standardisation of glycated haemoglobin (GHb) measurements became an important objective. ...
متن کاملChoosing appropriate theories for understanding hospital reporting of adverse drug events, a theoretical domains framework approach
Adverse drug events (ADEs) may cause serious injuries including death. Spontaneous reporting of ADEs plays a great role in detection and prevention of them, however, underreporting always exists. Although several interventions have been utilized to solve this problem, they are mainly based on experience and the rationale for choosing them has no theoretical base. The vast variety of behavioral ...
متن کاملAnticoagulation-associated adverse drug events.
PURPOSE Anticoagulant drugs are among the most common medications that cause adverse drug events (ADEs) in hospitalized patients. We performed a 5-year retrospective study at Brigham and Women's Hospital to determine clinical characteristics, types, root causes, and outcomes of anticoagulant-associated ADEs. METHODS We reviewed all inpatient anticoagulant-associated ADEs, including adverse dr...
